Stupidity ! Did you all here about the woman who drank too much water and died in hopes to win a Ninetendo Wii . A radio station hosted the water drinking contest.

Well, they say knowledge is power. If the poor soul had only realized you can drown your own body by drinking water continuously without stopping. That is extremely sad! The radio station should have posted a warning that there actually is a danger from drinking water over a certain amount per hour. If I were her family, I'd sue the station for causing that disaster. It's their fault as she would not have drank like that in normal circumstances! At least the children could gather some retribution for themselves to have to live now, without their mother!

You can't fault the mother for being ignorant of the possible danger of drinking to much water. The Radio Station should be fined for their stupidity.

This is a tragic example of why one should not trust media sources, for they are often irresponsible. There are other contests on television like Fear Factor and even Survivor that can be dangerous and even fatal. Just because there is a great prize for the victor, does not mean it is safe.

oh yeah i heard about it. If I were her I would have just saved up the money to get the game. Above all not only is it unhealthy to hold in your pee when you have to go but I guess people just don't care to look into things like that before they start a contest. Well that is not the reason she died but still, very unhealthy.

What's really tragic is that the radio station was called by a nurse during the competition. She warned them that the contest could be fatal, but they did it anyway.

Hope that the radio station is yanked off the air, and it's management, and those DJs all get prosecuted!

It's truly a shame! I wonder how much beer a person can drink? Would that have been any safer? Ironic a person can die from water.
