Diablo still means devil, but sometimes certain cultures use it as an expletive like if you cut your finger and say !Sh**! It can also be an interjection like saying the devil did it. Are you sure the womans name was Diablo, that may be just a nickname? If you haven't seen it spelled, then it could even be something related like Debra which just sounded like Diablo.
