The basic sentence structure is a subject plus a verb. For example: The hound stunk. "Hound" is the subject and "stunk" is the verb.

Basic sentence structure = Subject (the one doing the action) + Predicate (a.k.a. verb, the action taking place)

Example: (Subject:) Sabrina + (Predicate:) bought a dress.

Some commands, however, look like they only use one word, the verb:
Example: Run!

The subject in these sentences is "you" (You run!), but it does not need to appear in a command.

Was that a question or an answer? I don't even think it was a full sentence.
