According to my College Transcript, I received a D in my English class but they gave me 3 Units for it. I thought a D in college is failing.

no.. 59=F..that is failing.. In every univ. that I know of, u will have to retake English..u must have at least a C in it to graduate.. If u later transfer, very few univ will accept D's..3 units or credits is right but if u are talking about grade points.. D=3, C=6, etc.

Hours Attempted. The number of hours attempted is the total number of semester credit hours for which a student has enrolled and received grades of “A,” “B,” “C,” “D,” “F,” “W,” or “CR” except as provided for repeated courses.

Hours Earned. The hours earned by a student are the number of semester credit hours in which grades of “A,” “B,” “C,” “D,” or “CR” have been received.

Grade Point Average. The grade point average is determined by dividing the number of grade points earned by the number of for-credit semester credit hours attempted.

A 4 Outstanding
B 3 Above Average
C 2 Average
D 1 Below Average
F 0 Failure

a D isn't good but as long as its not in your major and you don't ever need that grade to transfer usually it counts as credit

A "D" is still passing unless stated otherwise by your college.
