I'm going to go out on a limb and say ask your date first what kind of movies he likes. Because there are guys out there who can't stand "sappy girly love stories" and he may watch one if you pick it if he really likes you but he may secretly be thinking the movie is corny. If you ask him what kind of movies he likes and he says Action, which typically most guys do, there is a movie out right now called CRANK with Jason Statham. I know a lot of guys like him because he is tough guy type who has been in other action movies like the TRANSPORTER. My boyfriend LOVED the movie CRANK, and while I enjoy the girly romances, I also dig a good action flic! So if you don't mind good action movies, I think you'd actually enjoy it too. It's about a guy who gets injected with a poison that will kill him in a couple hours and he has to find a way to get rid of the poison and live. It is so exciting that you and your date will be laughing out loud and amazed at some of the stunts and the non stop action! Try it to be different and your date may think you are a cool chic to want to watch an action film!

I would suggest any romantic comedy. I like As Good as it Gets. The Wedding SInger, as for a Newer Release I enjoyed You Me and Dupree. I'd stear away from the notorious horror flick, I'd much rather enjoy a good laugh :)

I absolutely love "A Walk in the Clouds" with Keanu Reeves and I think it's Selma Hayek (sp?). It just drips romance with a touch of hot passion to boot.
