Be prepared to make minimum wage.

You may be able to get a job at a nicer restaurant, not too fancy, but something like a Ruby Tuesdays or even a Bog Boys. You could work as a busser, they make pretty decent money, plus tips.

I started working when I was 14. I worked for $4.25 an hour and I scraped chicken guts out of a pan at a Chicken Shack (a borasted chicken place). It was gross and bad pay, but it was money!

Look into your county, city, or community Parks & Recreation programs. They have many programs that allow you to work as ticket takers, or out in the local parks. I believe you would still get paid minimum wage, but your hours will be limited and you would need a work permit. But it's a great place to start! Even if you start volunteering now and by 16, then you can work more hours.

Good luck!

Try being a bagger at a grocery store. It's a simple job and I think they start at minimum wage, whatever that is in your state.
