you need to have it looked at by a tech -
check the dials, make sure the cord is not working itself loose or damaged.
but most likely its the compressor and you need a new one. if its still within the 1st 5 yrs of your date of purchase, the compressor is still covered under maufactures warranty

i'm guessing that the refrigerator section is on the superb area, if that area is heat and the freezer area is cool then you definately maximum probable have a frozen evaporator coil. it incredibly is brought about by utilising various circumstances. The administration putting is faulty The evaporator fan isn't working The condenser coil is grimy / blocked The defrost equipment isn't functioning in case you could placed the foodstuff someplace else to maintain it chilly, then try turning off the refrigerator, or turn the controls to the WARMEST putting and spot if the ice melts off the coil, it might desire to take some hours, you would be able to discover water on the floor if it incredibly is the concern. there are different steps which would be taken in case you will detect the defrost timer. while you at the instant are not mushy doing mechanical artwork then you definately could call a provider guy, and in case you do try any maintenance, make effective you UNPLUG the kit first.

First check to see if the light is still going on when you open the door. If not check that the cord is still plugged in or that a breaker hasn't tripped in your breaker panel. With that established in other words you still have power to the machine then in all likely hood it will be a temp regulator or temp sensor that has failed. Yes it could be the motor (kind of depending on age of machine). You will probably be looking at a couple of hundred dollars to have it serviced. You will have to consider if it is less than 5 years old it will probably be worth fixing but if it is much older you might consider getting a new one. Chances are the refrigerant is okay unless once again it is an old machine. Good hunting hope it's an easy fix for you.Cheers!

Do the door lights come on? If not you have no power.
Your user manual (Available off their web site) may give you come clues. I expect the freezer and fridge have separate compressors. If neither of them runs you have a power problem. Check fuse or breaker and plug.
If the trouble is in the GE, there may be a circuit breaker in it. The user guide should have some troubleshooting help.

It sounds as though the thermostat may have gone bad in your refrigerator. Is the freezer still freezing? Thermostats generally do not cost more than $10.00 but of course the repair will charge about $90-$100.00 to install the thermostat. The usually does not take moe than an housr to complete.

First what you should do is try to clean the condenser coil, which is either under your fridge, or behind it. Just try to clean it the best you can with a vacuum. This coil is designed to get rid of the heat, and if it is to dirty, it is unable to displace the heat. Hopefully it isn't too late, otherwise you may have to replace the fridge.

Check the settings inside.
Pull the grate off the bottom and use a flashlight. See all that dirt and dust?
Turn the controls to the off position (or unplug).
Get the vacuum cleaner and a long brush (they sell them as ''radiator brushes'').
Use the flashlight, brush and vacuum to clean all that crap out!
Now turn the refrigerator back on!

Maybe the motor stopped working?
Best bet, get a technican to take a look at the fridge.
Now if it is under warranty...

it could be the motor burnt out, it is out of refrigerant, or a number of unfortunate things..
I suggest getting a new one and scrapping the old one, it will probably be cheaper than having it repaired...
