It was actually written by Sara Buxton for her debut album, but Keith Urban heard and liked it so much that she gave it to him.
He explained that on the radio about a few weeks or a month ago.

"Stupid Boy" is a funky, witty take on a guy who can't appreciate how good he has it, while another highpoint, "Used to the Pain," portrays a man trying to overcome his habit of sabotaging positive developments in his life _ appropriate, given his recent decision to go into rehab.

Not sure.It was co-wrote by a girl name Sarah Buxton though.
