my past policy has been, if you play it safe - you be safe. so i only im'ed and emailed people i already knew. (btw, im 18)
i recently satrted using yahoo questions thing (and i must admit, im hooked) but the being besides the point- ive bumped into people that i have alot in commen with, and im rethinking this. what do you think?
i mean, id never meet anyone i didnt know or anything, but what if i met someone, and i think that i trust them? i mean, you can never really know online.

If your going to meet somone you just have to be smart when you do it. I met some of my best friends online.. When ever I agree to meet someone new from the internet, I meet them in a public place and bring a friend with me. I have yet to get hurt etc. You just have to be smart about it.

When I first started chatting online like you, I was determined to play it safe, and like you I became addicted. I got to the point where i met someone I really connected with, and I really trusted. I moved to another state to be with this person, and was locked in a 10'x10' room for three months. I'm sure my experience is an extreme...but i urge you to be careful. If you are going to meet someone don't go alone. Just keep in mind how easy it is for people to be whoever they want to be online.

Im hooked to Yahoo Questions and Answers also. Im also 18. I have exchanged a few words with a person as well. A lady emailed me, but we kept it short and never got personal.
As you said, you can never really know online. Gentleman4Ever mite be a big jerk! and AngelFace mite be a whore. Be careful. You mite be attracted by the pretty words people type, but people can be pretty ugly inside. I would not suggest you to chat with strangers.

nope not me chatting on line isn't my cup of tea. it could be bad and it could have something with you maybe thinking hey this girl or such in such is really great and thinking may lose to to wanting to be near this person and then you may find its a mistake and it can happen like now you are hooked right? well my firend it can't lead to good stuff no matter what you are saying to yourself you have already changed one thing. get out of it and be done with it.

I'm hooked like you say as well. It has me considering more chat lines, which is something I used to do before, but I don't know any good chat rooms anymore. It is something I'd just like to do to communicate with like minded people and nothing more.

I think that you should go ahead and talk to people but use extreme caution before you ever agree to meet them in person.. If you do decide to meet them do it in a well populated place.

Meeting new people is fun. Everyone likes to be with people they have in common with. I say sure as long as it is healthy.
If you decide to met with any of them, please make it a public place. It never hurts to have a friend with you.

even if u dont reveal to much they can still like track u down so a smart person wudnt talk 2 random ppl they dont kno.but thats not me i love talking to random ppl.i stupidly live for today not 2moro. so im prolly gunna get raped.but who knos.
