Rihanna? Beyonce? Raven-Symone? Janet Jackson? Whitney Houston? Alicia Keys?
Rihanna's most popular songs are S.O.S and Unfaithful, which debuted in her first album which premiered last year. She is a recently discovered R&B and pop diva.
Beyonce starred in the movie Dreamgirls and is also the voice behind Deja Vu and Irreplacable in her latest album commemorating her 25th birthday, aptly named B-DAY.
Both of the above performed at the Sounds of Style 2006.
Raven-Symone Christina Pearman alias Raven/ Raven-Symone starred in the popular television series for children and preteens called That's So Raven. She is the first female African-American to have a show named after her. She sings This is My Time from the Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement soundtrack and also starred as Princess Asana. Her most successful album is This Is My Time and her latest one is Fly like a Raven.
Janet Jackson is the sister of the controversial Michael Jackson and also performed alongside her siblings in the Jackson-5. She remains the second most famous of the five Jackson children. Her best song is Come Back to Me.
Alicia Keys is the singing pianist of the popular R&B tracks If I Ain't Got You and Karma. Her albums are Diary of Alicia Keys and Alicia Keys Unplugged. Her songs are considered impossible to pull off by the American Idol judges, as remarked by Paula once.

Well, if I were you I'd do Cleopatra, there are many cool things that are unknown about her, for example in the ancient eastern world Cleopatra wasn't known as a beautiful evil seductress but actually.. a brilliant scientist, additionally, she was a descendant of a GREEK ruler, she was born in Egypt though. I'd also choose Cleo because she was recently shown on the HBO series ROME, you could go their website get some pictures and base your presentation character off the last pharaoh of Egypt. Hope this helps, Good Luck!!!

How bout charlie pride old yes but damn he was good he broke the color barrier in music of that time the man walked straight into the grand ole opry and sang country like it was his birth right the opry at that time was like redneck mecca this guy was captain kirk for blacks he did indeed boldly go where no black man had gone before sort of the truth is like many things country music was stolen from the black man its primary roots grew out of the old ***** spirituals sung by slaves and evolved from there. oh almost forgot clarence clemens the sax player for bruce springsteen . the entire Dave Mathews band except for dave. In living color (a 90s metal band ) chuck Dee of public enemy there are tons of others music is one of the most level playing fields in society at least when it comes to color

There's lots of them.
You can't think of any black person whose music you like?
Maybe you should think of some songs you like and check to see if any of them are made by a black person. That sounds like an easy assignment. Wish I'd had something like that in school.
