I have not read this book, but I do understand that interepreting ideas takes a lot of thought. You should probably research the meaning behind different colors. Colors can carry very complex baggage, especially when coupled with shapes and textures.

The most important thing that I can suggest you do before picking what colors to use is to make a separate list for each character. Write down adjectives you would use to describe each character and maybe include things that you think that they would own, music they would listen to, and clothing that they would wear. This will help you know and feel your choices for each character in your project.

Most of all, experiment and take chances. You might not get it right the first time. Making a few trial projects will help you see what works best.

Good luck!

A Doll's Hose is H. Ibsen's play.
Nora is considered THE DOLL, first by her father and and after that by her husband, the lawyer Torvald Helmer (a really selfish person). In fact she is a modern woman, independent and intelligent. She lives in a world ruled by men but she doesn't let herself be ruled. "The doll" obtain some money from a creditor, using her father's signature. She need the money to take her sick husband. Torvald is recovered, but Nora has to pay back the money. She does, saving her "pocket" money (the money she get from her husband for food and clothes). When Torvald finds out what Nora did, he gets mad. She did it from love toward her husband, and he considers her guilty. She saved his life, but Torvald wasn't capable of understanding.
She leaves her husband because she realized she was only a doll for her husband, and a mother to the children. Now she feels she has some obligations regarding herself and leaves her family for the sake of a new begining. She is capable of living and working by her own.
She is pure and onest, an angel (her color is white).
Torvald may be black (dark understanding of his wife) and blue (he's blue when Nora leaves him).
The creditor is being unhonest (grey).
Good luck with it!
