Some people are going to get high... That is a fact of life and some will do anything to do it. There are 7,000,000 people either in prison, on parole or probation. How many of those do you suppose were drug related. Not just buying or selling it but all of the crimes committed to support a drug addiction.. It seems that the majority of people don't even want to legalize medical marijuana and the states that do have it have a problem because there is a federal law against it. If me or mine needed it I darned well would be growing it.. I agree with you, legalize and control and tax it..

I have no idea how it would be possible to regulate use of lethal narcotics like heroin. However, people kill themselves and each other with booze every day so I guess it wouldn't be entirely different from life as it is now. I agree with you about prohibition and how the war on drugs just isn't working.
However, I just can't really come to terms morally with the idea of legalizing more things to kill people and ruin their lives. I guess the people who would use them wouldn't be much different from the people who already do. It's not like all the addicts in the country didn't understand the risks before they shot up.

If you are referring to specifically pot. Then yes we should. It is far less harmful a substance than either alcohol or tabacco. It should never have been classified as a schedule 1.
With that said, those substances may very well pose risks to the young and still developing, and thus I think it should be illegal to sell to them, or encourage them to use.
Given the medical benefits of pot and the many religious uses, I think we could improve our nation's economy and lessen the use of those who are attracted to it precisely because its illegal, by making it legal and allowing it in controlled circumstances to be bought, sold, and used.
However, I can't say the same for meth, cocaine, and heroine. They are extremely dangerous and damaging, not only their use and abuse, but also their creation.

We need to legalize all existing narcotics and put through regulatory approval process like the FDA for all future ones.
They should be taxed and sold to people over 18 after they go through a licensing process to learn of the dangers of different drugs.
There should be amnesty for all non-violent drug related offenders and records. There should be free treatment of addicts for addiction.
We could ruin the maffia, gangs and terrorists who depend on drug trafficking for their existence since the prices would drop without seizures and the danger associated with its transport.

we should legalize soft narcotics like marajuania. And have certain zones where you can smoke it. But only in those zones and only smoke it there have these mostly around cities.
Never legalize dangerous drugs because legalizing it will get you more users.

Sure. But the people who want to use them have to check into a place, like a hotel, and pay for everything of course, and can't leave until they're safe again.Or kill themselves.

I hate how your question is phrased. The short answer is no except for marijuana. Pot is no different than booze. In fact it may be less harmful than liquor. Don't group all "drugs" together.
