Your knees can make a cracking sound just like your knuckles. Mine have ALWAYS done that. They are stiff these days because I am in my 40's.
You did not mention if it hurts or how old you are. If so see a Dr. Otherwise chalk it up to getting older and get used to it.

I'm not sure how old your cat is, but I had the same problem right around 3-5 months. We tried everything, too. Locked her out, sprayed her with water, even just putting up with it for a couple of days. There was no sure bet on what to do, but it just wore her out and she realized it was unacceptable. I know waiting seems ridiculous, but I waited about 2 weeks and it just dwindled. Locking her out did seem to be the best method, because she would be great for the first couple of days and then wake us up all over again. Then, we would put her outside again. It was just our way of saying, if you wake us up, you can't sleep with us. She got it fairly quickly. I hate to say it, but I feel like the best answer is patience. It sounds like you're doing the right thing.

Most likely u have an the early signs of arthritis. Talk to ur doctor abt it for a diagnosis and treatment before it gets any worse.

I have had it since I was 14...its important to get early treatment to help prevent and slow down the damaged that it can cause.

Your knee and other joints have fluid called synovial fluid and when your bones are displaced by this fluid, sometimes you hear a POP. It is absolutely normal.
