i have a problem with all my jeans,the colour runs when i wash them and they fade.is there anything that can prevent this?i heard adding salt can but i don't know

wash them only in cold & turn them inside out first

Try adding a cup of white vinegar to the first cold wash of you new jeans. It should help.

salt will set dye...(when you dye anything it requires salt...) you can get denim dye, re-dye your jeans and remember to add salt and use H O T water to dye. (if you wash in cold water the jeans won't fade so much...)

Are you washing them in cold water? that is supposed to help set the color.
