Structural clues for the best airplane for distance:
1. pull do not push the airplane to launch (too much stress)
2. allow wings to fold back on lauching to maximixe distance flown.
3. wings at or slighly behind the center of gravity.
4. a tail with rudder for straight, level flight.
The rest is the fun, trial and error.
