Apparently the only people who are abducted by aliens live in trailer parks, so stay away from those and you should be okay.

Aliens, if they exist, are not visiting Earth or abducting people. Alien abduction memories are hallucinations. UFO's are things we can't identify, but us not knowing what they are is no proof they are space ships.

Mass hysteria. One person says they were abducted, and pretty soon tweakers and crack-heads and very un-educated people believe it happened to them.
