I suffer from depression also. The mental stimulation of YA is helpful when I'm too tired to go out. But online friendship will not go very far toward satisfying you, and they may keep you from making the effort to leave the house.

well, I think that you getting treatment for depression is going to allow you to make and keep friends. I suffer from severe clincal depression, I have been without my meds for almost two years, and it is almost unbearable. When I was getting therapy and my meds, I was actually beginning to start functioning as a normal person, since I never had this normalcy, it scared the beJesus out of me. Now I am realizing that I would rather be normal. I am 32.

depression is a very deep word. but if you feel depressed then i suggest getting to the core of the problem. it sounds like you are just lonely. often it's best when we go towards a problem, it's like finally facing the school bully and getting him out of your way. you suddenly get this sense of power and strength when you defeat certain things. and that's the antidote you need. if public surroundings make u uncomfortable, then go to the movies, jog at the park, go to the mall. see what i mean superman? get the kryptonite away from you!

When people get depressed they often separate themselves from society. They longer they stay separated, the easier it is to continue that behavior. If you don't use your people skills, you have a harder time relating to others. Try taking baby steps. Go for a walk. Try a movie or join a church group. Eventually things will change, but YOU have to take the first step.

Sure it is and you would be surprised how much better you would feel. I too suffer from depression and it is manageable. With people to talk to it is easier. If you want to chat e-mail me. It's in my profile. Next step is yours to take. Good Luck

Some online people are bad. Maybe you should find a friend that you met face to face. Be warn, some friends are bossy.

Join the club. We don't have meetings because nobody likes to get out much.
