Sure it's true. Lawsuit settlements are the only thing in this world that support the theory that miracles do happen.

Definitely. I once worked for a big corporation, and they agreed to put me in the position of my choice (within reason and qualifications, of course) in return for my dropping a discrimination lawsuit. It happens a lot more than we hear about.
