The MER Opportunity has been at Victoria Crater for several months, aren't they going to go in?

They might, but they are not sure that they could ever get out again, so they will wait until they have nothing to loose. By that I mean they will wait until the rover is on it's last legs, expected to fail soon. It would be no loss then if it got stuck in the crater.

maybe they lost their opportunity.
