When trying to view a video file my anti-virus blocked a codec from being downloaded. Can a codec be a virus in disguise?

I think it is possible that there could be a virus in some of the codecs out there. Try this codec it should be the last one you will ever need to download. http://www.cccp-project.net/

Anything you download from the internet could be harmful to your computer. Just make sure you have a GOOD anti-virus or a virus scanner on your computer just in case.
