The Dreamgirls wasn't a actual group, but a group put together for a Broadway show in the 80's
It was losely based on the Supreme's, notice Beyonce mimicking Diana Ross's movements to a T.
However, the producers and cast say it wasn't the Supremes that they were talking about it was all female groups in that era and some of the things they went through.
Yeah right, Diana Ross probally did steal that girl's man. : )

Loosly modeled after several Motown groups, but mostly Diana Ross and the Supremes , I think .
