VCR's are still being sold everywhere. You can also get them as a DVD/VCR combo.

Some stores still sell a combo VCR and DVD player...if you just want a VCR though, you'll have to go to a thrift store like Goodwill to find a VCR.

Try these few places:
1) Harvey Norman
2) Best Denki
3) People's Park Complex
4) Mustafa *Best*
5) Courts
6) Giant Hypermart
7) Sim Lim Square *Best*
8) Cash Converters
By the way, I think you're a Singaporean and you should know where exactly to buy a VCR right? It is just a matter of where to get a cheap and brand new set.
Kindly visit http://www.streetdirectory.com or http://www.yellowpages.com.sg for more details.

Try Mustafa Centre. VCRs are no longer sold because DVDs are now recordable and the price of such recorders have gone down by a lot. In any case, there are not many stores where you can rent VCR tapes these days. Everyone has switched to DVDs. For the matter, have you noticed even VCDs are rare these days?

They still sell VCRs ... each store has one or two models. They are just not in high demand, like they were 20 years ago.

VCR's are being replaced by DVD's, and all those other fancy gadgets. Its called modern technology. Just like record players existed, but was replaced with cassettes and cd's. There are still some places that sell them, but they may not for long.
