You should visit babyhopes.com for instructions on tracking your bbt. Tracking your bbt must be done everyday for at least 3 months to observe a pattern. Then it is usful for predicting when you will ovulate or if you have ovulated. Your temperture remains consistent before ovulation usually not too high. Then it might dip right around ovulation. It then remains elevated usually above 98 until your next period. If your're pregnant then it will remain elevated and you won't get your period. Temps need to be taken first thing in the morining before you get out of bed. It should be done at around the same time every morning. Have fun!

I only tracked my temperature until I got a positive pregnancy test, and not after. But my temps remained high after I ovulated, in fact there might have been a second temperature shift (to a slightly higher temp) that corresponded quite nicely with the probable time of implantation. Not sure if that's normal or not, though.
