I am doing a research paper on the sin tax of cigarettes and would like to compare the prices of cigarettes in my city to those around the U.S./World. So How much do you pay for a Quality Pack of cigarettes? A carton? thanx for your help!

For a pack of 25 cigarettes brand name in Canada you will pay $9.75. A carton of 8 packs will set you back $74.00.

About $3.5 a pack and $30 a carton. (It really depends on what brand of cigaretee though.) I live near a state line border and the neighboring state has a different cigarette tax rate, so the cartons are about $10 cheaper in the neighboring state.

In Los Angeles, California- name brands cost $4.00-$4.50 a pack, ten times that for a carton.

North Carolina, you can get a pack of cigarettes,(Marlboro's) for 2.94 which is a good price, thats at CVS drug store, all other stores are around 3.55 a pack.
