this is an obd1 car,you do not need a scanner to reset. disconnect the battery for more than 10-20 seconds. the light will go out. keep in mind, that unless you actually fix the problem, the light will likely come back on. you would think the shop owner with 36 years of experience would know this.i wonder how much money this guy costs people with all of his wrong answers; im glad my car isn't in his shop.

If the your vehicle has long gone to 3 different shops and their code reader detected a fault with a similar code and has been replaced with a sparkling one then the difficulty might lye interior the a defective cord to or from the main computing gadget. watching the code reader they have been utilising won't have the flair to accomplish a function which will reset style or reveal screen the suspected section. some late style vehicles have the flair of flashing the promenade chip interior the computing gadget that fixes any widely used bugs interior the chip. I advise taking the vehicle to the GMC broker because of the fact they have the right try equipment to reveal screen and carried out particular activation attempt to isolate the difficulty. Your probabilities of them looking the criminal is a lot probable than a save that would not have the right equipment. in the event that they do pinpoint the difficulty promptly they'll call u supply an precise estimate to repair it. and that's while u elect if it is not worth fixing. yet supply them a attempt. It beats financing a sparkling vehicle and keeping the greater desirable money for greater significant issues. stable luck!

Try disconnecting the battery. It will reset the system. You can also take it to Auto Zone. They will diagnose your vehicle for free.
