When i read, I don't think of time, only the heavy into the text feeling that i have. it is a great thing for me, and at one time I did read 8 books per day, there was not enough time in the world for reading, as it beats life as I know it, and allows me to see the world and know things others will never have or be of mind to discuss. I consider myself fortunate. by the way, i refuse to wear a watch.

Yes it does. I remember before the kids went to school I would get them to bed and I would run take a bath and get in my bed and read. I would get up to get a drink and look and it would be 3 or 4 am. I get lost in books. Once I start I can't stop. That is the best feeling.

Does time cease to exist or does time become whatever time it is in what ever place it is that you are reading about.
Next time you need to take a powder room break depending on what you are reading you can pretend you are using the comode in Hawaii or Rome or during the iditarod (burrrr!!)

It depends on what time of day it is. If my kids are home, it seems to take forever to get off a chapter (constant interruptions). If it's after bedtime and the house is quiet, I can really get into the book. It's 3:30am before I know it. I just seem to absorb it and can't put it down. It takes me to a different place where I don't have to worry about my problems, I can watch someone else solve theirs. lol.

I agree. I love getting lost in books too. You know it's a good book when you hate for it to end. For me, though, it depends on the book.

I love to read so much until I fall asleep and do not know when I went to sleep, now that is what I call lost time that existed when I was awake.

let me pose this question to u. does time exist? we do kave time keeping devices so it must exist. its only because we get lost in an alternate reality does it seem to stop which wat makes books so much fun to read. the best books are the ones that u get so engrossed in that time doesnt exist because we are oblivious to the outside world. one of my favourite boks to read is the never ending story because it draws u in and keeps u there. i once started reading at 8pm and didnt finish untill 2 am the next day!
