of corse you can! That is what I used to do. I never took any classes that required a recital. Just check your yellow pages OR check your local parks and rec center. Say you are just looking to take some calsses for fun and that you want nothing that culminates with a year end recital. It is als obest to look for a place that will let you pay by the lesson, you don't want to be stuck taking classes that you hate.

Yes, if I were you and looking for a type of dance that's alot of fun without necessarily being competitive, then I'd recommend swing dancing.
The best classes are going to be in Lindy Hop or West Coast style. For group classes you'll pay 5 dollars a lesson (roughly) and you won't necessarily need to bring a partner... though it never hurts... you'll rotate during classes anyway. I recommend group classes to start because you'll get the most learning for the best price. Private lessons will run you 20 dollars per person per hour and will yield the most benefit later (though they're never really necessary, I've NEVER had a private lesson).
The types of swing dancing you can learn:
Lindy Hop (the most complex basic step, and allows alot of creativity. The oldest form of swing dancing)
East Coast (used to fill in lindy for 6 count instead of 8, or as a more freestyle form of dance)
West Coast (an adaptation of Lindy that's rare accept in the Northwest, very formal style of swing dancing)
Balboa (made for REALLY fast songs)
Shag
Boogie Woogie (both uncommon fillers but look awesome if you can find someone else that knows them)
Blues (nice for slow songs, this is the tango for swing dancing)
Charleston (this one's just cool)

Absolutely! Check the phone book or just type in "dance instruction" and your city and state into Yahoo search to see th dance studios in your area. I'm sure you'll be able to find everything from ballet, tap, jazz, and hip-hop to salsa, modern, and belly dancing. Have fun!

i love ballet, jazz, tap, present day, lyrical, and pointe, yet ballet is my all-time prominent. it is the middle to all dance, and it is soooooo quite!!!! in case you go with to do a jazz, you practically ought to do ballet. then you genuinely ought to go back to a call - do you go with to make various of noise along with your ft, get "down" in some hip-hop, or be flowy and bypass form of peculiar??? it is extremely as a lot as what you want and prefer to do. you should refer on your instructor in the previous instructions commence as to what she/he thinks you should artwork on or are good at then bypass with that. it is all as a lot as you, extremely. good luck and performance relaxing!!!
