I know the word Inhumane is subjective, but where does one draw the line between acceptable human behavior and just plain craziness… everyday on the news we hear more and more tragic scenarios that are caused by humans. Ruthless things we do to each other. It’s so common now that the shock factor is diminishing… We see more and more bad news on the news we just sigh and go on with our everyday lives. Would one consider sitting on your butt and turning the channel after hearing a woman just micro waved her infant inhumane or just too bad? I asked this question because my mother and I were talking about Spike lee’s documentary “When the Levees Broke”. There was a scene in the documentary were the rescuers had to rescue people by fishing them out of the water and placing them on a bride that connected New Orleans to a neighboring town. And when the bride was full of people they began to walk into the next town for refuge. And instead of the people accepting them with open arms; the Sherriff of the town gathered his men and blocked the entrance to the town by lining up them shoulder to shoulder and gave them guns to keep these people out. And they threatened to shoot them if they persisted. They rejected hundreds and hundreds of cold, wet, hungry people... no water to drink to food no clothes people who were in pain and hurting already. And whatever condition that town was in the people were surly doing worse… The town may have been in bad shape as well but brutal denial does not help the suffering. And that’s just one example things like that are happening all the time. “Inhumane” Are Brutal acts, which people are simply incapable of doing, happening everyday so much that the word’s definition is beginning to no longer exist? Humans are acting more animalistic than most animals, where do we draw the line?

I think we as a race have become immune to inhumanity. Like you say, we are exposed to this stuff every day. We've learned to just block it out. Sometimes we have to or we would go completely crazy with all the stuff that happens in this world. People are just so hateful and there is no reason for that other then its human nature. Mothers who kill their children and people who turn helpless people out. What has this world come to. I guess its not so different then it ever was, except now we have more ways of harming each other. I dont think there is a line between what is right and what is wrong. We lost that a hell of a long time ago. This is human nature as we know it. There are some exceptions though, like the microwave lady, that is just nuts. I'm not really sure that that certian definition that your asking for ever did exist.

Historical, towns have done what you said. Closed their gates. Many reasons. Not all good. Not all bad. What i find inhumane is to have a captive. tied and on his knees and with a very large knife behead him while filming it. Or putting a person, alive through a leaf shredder. . Acts of viciousness. These are done in cold blood. What is done in a crisis is not to be looked upon in the same tone.

mans inhumanity to man (and animals too, come to think of it).
Inhumanity doens't need a dictionary to define it-any reasonable thinking human being knows what is moral and imoral in how we treat one another and the biggiest most accurate description of inhumnanity is defined in the bible when we act opposite of loving one another for if we do not love, we then hate though we cover it up with anything but the h word.

Inhumane is usually referred to treatment of an Animal. It is inhumane to mistreat, neglect , abuse, fight, torture, or any other thing that is abusive to animals. It is also inhumane to behead a human, or do torture to humans. Inhumane means to do something horrible to a living creature, weather it is animal, birds , fish, or humans. Inhumane means to be detestable against anything living. Cruel and not human behavior.

Being inhumane begins with humans allowing millions of animals to be slaughtered every day for eating their flesh. Humans are NOT carnivores, we are herbivores. We beg God for mercy but we are not willing to extend it to others. Being superior to animals means to protect and serve NOT to exploit and abuse.

To me the will full and wanton destruction of any form of life, be it plant , animal, or other people just for the sake of doing it is inhumane.

I didn't read all of it but I completly agree with you..The world is changing and certain things are occuring so often that we feel like we can only sigh and go on with our day..I feel that we need to do something..Some people just don't care anymore.
