An allergic reaction could include hives and itching, throat swelling, difficulty breathing. If the baby is getting sicker it's not an allergic reaction. It's the fact that the medication is not doing anything for him period. He probably should be rechecked by a physician.

I'm allergic to amox, it made me break out.
He gave you a prescription for a cold?
I would've just given him an infants cold medicine. Prescription drugs are really hard on a kids stomach.
Call your doc back or call the pharmacist and ask, and if your child seems alot sicker, dont give him anymore of that medicine.

My daughters allergic to it and she broke out in a rash from head to toe! But if he's getting sicker then you need to take him to the doctor or the ER asap. There are different allergic reactions to meds. It's better safe then sorry! If it was me I'd go to the ER you can never be to careful when it comes to your kids.

hives, bad bad hives.. starts looking like a small rash but gets worse and spreads head to toe, can swell up the eyes too. my daughter had such a bad reaction her eyes were swollen shut (she was two at the time). they had to give her steriods.. anyway.. its pretty normal for antibiotics to be a little rough on the belly or cause a bit of diahhrea... if its really getting worse, perhaps talk to the doc about changing the script? whats the amox for? ear infection?

Why would your Dr give a baby with a cold an antibiotic? It makes no sense.
