I've noticed if I'm ever infected with a virus, that every time there is 1 or 2 infections Norton AV can't clean. It says because they're in System Restore or "System Volume Info." So why/how can a virus infect system restore but NAV isn't able to go in there & clean it? Is there any way to fix it? (Besides dumping System Restore Files)

Antivirus program should be a resident program
and will appear in TaskBar. If NAV has not
blocked, a virus on line, try
AVG from www.grisoft.com ( free till 17th feb 2007).
Will take more than 40 minutes for a full scan .
Para two : Disable system Restore and
run NAV.. in SafeMode.

They cant.
What happened is there was a virus on your system when the restore point was made.
Look for a restore point that does not have a virus. If they all are infected than turn off System Restore, delete the restore points, empty the Recycle Bin, run an antivirus, than turn System Restore back on.

Go to MSconfig under Start --> Run. Follow the tabs to Services and Startup. I reccomend to DISABLE ALL ITEMS UNDER STARTUP. Then reboot your system and do a scan. Otherwise, slave the drive up to another machine and scan it as a slave.
