A quadraplegic is a person who has been paralysed in all four limbs. In some cases they can have partial paralysis in their arms but complete in their legs depending on how high up the spinal cord the damage is. The higher the damage the more paralysis. The nerves from the spine service different muscles at different levels so you can have paralysis in some muscles in the arms and chest but not others. This is also why some quadraplegics need assistance breathing and others dont.

Someone who has impairment of movement in 4 limbs....
Go rent "Murderball".... Great movie. It really explains it well.
The electrical impulses from the brain to the limbs may be impaired, but there still can be some movement and use of the arms and legs.

It is caused by damage to the brain or to the spinal cord at a high level (e.g. spinal cord injuries secondary to an injury to the cervical spine). The injury causes the victim to lose partial or total use of the arms and legs, depending on where the injury to the spinal cord is located.
I have a friend that is termed a quadrapalgic and is paralyzed frm his chest down so he still has use of his arms and hands.

someone who is paralyzed and has no movement in the legs and limited or no movement in the arms. Like Christopher Reeve who fell off a horse.
yes indeed some of them DO have limited movement of their arms, but little or no movement of the fingers.
