I just accidentally sliced off a chunk of my thumb with a razor blade. The part that came off is about an inch long and maybe a quarter inch deep. I ran my thumb and the detached piece under water to clean it out. Then I re-attached the piece and wrapped bandaids around it.
Will this piece heal back onto my thumb or will it die and fall off like a scab?
Should I go to the doctor and get an anti-biotic or just wait and see if infection is a problem?
thank you all in advance..

DEFINITELY go to the Doctor. They may be able to reattach it easily. If they can't at the very least they will give you some antibiotics and a tetanus shot if you havent had one recently. Your thumb is the most important digit better safe than sorry.

Keep it clean and bandaged. Change the dressing daily.
If you see signs of excess swelling , pain or yellow purulent(pus)
drainging from the digit, go straight to the Emergency Room.
Generally the palmer surface of the digit will regenerate with
minimal deformity.

since the part of your thumb is not attached go get super glue stitches and reattach it and be sure to firmly put it in place for the healing to take place be sure to watch for infection make completely sure that your thumb is clean

go and have it fixed up professionally. It sounds like something you need to have looked at sooner than later. Infection can set in quite easily.
