Not only in these areas but all across America. I knew that when the minimum wage passed that EVERYTHING would go up. And guess what? It did. That doesn't help those on the new minimum wage.

Here in New Zealand, a couple both working, earning minimum wage, will never be able to pay even the interest on a mortgage, let alone the principle. Bring on the next depression, I say - lets see the rich eat their money. Store canned veges and rice today, people!

l didn't know there were any that WERE affordable. l lived in DC twenty years ago and they weren't affordable then. l think they could only have gotten less affordable. lts just like anywhere else, price is based on demand. lf there weren't people who could afford the high prices (the rich), the prices wouldn't be so high. Yes they are a thing of the past, the very distant past!!!!
