Since they are about 10" when full grown, it will take one about a year and a half to two years to reach full adulthood. Breeding the L-014 (goldie-sunshine pleco) has not yet been accomplished in the aquarium, and the only fish available are wild caught.

The cheapest ones I have seen are in the $30-35 range. They certainly are beautiful fish. It's a shame that the color fades as they grow older. They are still a very striking fish, but just with slightly faded colors and spots. You are very lucky to have one. Take good care of it and it will live for around 8-10 years.

I'm not sure about Sunshine Pleco's but I think the common ones take a couple years. Maybe less, they grow fast.
