yes i don't open my mouth when putting my mascara on, i pout!
i think the main reason behind it is that supposedly stretche's the skin around your eyes, which does with some of my friends, but i find lifting my eyebrows up more effective!
Just an automatic subconscious response for some women

Yes, i can put my mascara on with my mouth shut but it is very difficult.

My wife pouts her lips when applying mascara and does the same when using eyelash curlers.....I wish she would pucker up for me and not for her make up lol
