My Little girl head butt me and I went to the hospital. My brother is a cat scan tech xrayed my nose. he told me they won't do much for me so I took the xrays and left figuring I can see a doctor on monday. Should I have stayed and saw the doctor in the ER? Should I go back right now?

I have had a broken nose..they can't do anything. The only thing they'll do if you go back is read the xray and tell you if its broken. For me they gave me this little cover to go over my nose, so I could continue cheerleading. But it was mostly to remind people I had a broken nose...cause it wouldn't protect it if someone hit me. You can follow up with your own doctor later, or not at all...they may have prescribed you some painkillers if it hurts that bad! But thats it. Ice packs and tylenol is all you need.

Unless your broken nose is severely affecting your breathing or it wont stop bleeding they can't really do anything in the ER. Best thing is to wait and the GP, get some over the counter pain medication in the meantime and if you need a referral to a surgeon to get it straightened get it from the GP.... and try and stay away from little girls heads :P Hope you feel better soon!!

There's really not much you can do for a broken nose. See your family doctor on Monday, and take Tylenol or Motrin for pain until then. Also use ice to reduce the swelling until you can get to the doc.

you know that you should waited to see the doc at the ER sense you was already there you should l have let the doctor tell you that and not the ex ray tech even though he is your brother he is not a doctor after all.

Go back. Doctors are the only professionals qualified to read x-rays.

MAN THAT SUX!!!!! Kind of like a broken toe, there is nothing they can do... Yous hould have stayed.... I would at least get the prescription pain pills offered and that may help you get through this better!!! Hope it heals soon!!!!

I don't think they can fix a broken nose, you would waste your money on a doctor now.I could be wrong though.

you should have seen the doctor in the ER. if its really serious n hurting u a lot u should probably go back.

taht's up to you----I ahve had my nose broken a few times and all the dr did was put tape across it-which bugged the hell out of me.

A broken neck is worse because it can cause paralysis which causes you to be unable to move
