How do I tell my friend that i have a crush on her? She and i have been friends for like a year and i have had a crush on her since the first day i saw her. She knows im a lesbian but she has absolutely no idea that i like her. How can i break this to her without loosing her as a friend?

She's not gay. i just dont like keeping this from her, thats why i want to tell her.

The thing is that im afraid to just dive in, i think if i did that it would scare her off. Im too shy to just go up to her and say i like u.

She knows you're a lesbian...do you know if SHE is? Makes a BIG difference in your approach. If you're both gay, a straightforward "I've always liked you a lot, you know," might move things in a promising direction. If she's straight, there's no point to mentioning it at all--her response, while it might be kind, will not be the one you hope for, and you might even offend or confuse or insult her. If you don't know, I think you have some research to do.

The thing is what are your motivations for telling her? Do you hope deep down maybe she will realize an attraction for you? What will telling her achieve? She may be attracted and then you have a relationship however - she may not and you lose your friend or worse she chooses to experiment but ends up deciding she's straight anyway so you might get hurt?
How much do you value the friendship as it stands now? Is it worth losing for a crush when if you met another girl who is definitely gay then you wouldn't be up for so much heartbreak and you can keep your friend.

Total honesty sweetie. I felt the same way about my bestfriend but i didnt tell her cause i didnt want to offend her or loose her friendship. If she is a true friend then you wont lose her friendship and the two of you can talk about how she feels about it and where you should go from there

If you know that she's straight, then leave it alone. There are many women that I find sexually attractive, at work or in social situations, but letting them know that would change the relationships and in many cases make them strained.
