Addictions for sure. But what about the innocents affected by those with addictions? Partners, children? What about those with
serious emotional problems who can't help themselves?
Do you know we pay trillions in taxes to help the underpriviledged
in this country, only to have those who are supposed to help them
leave them out on the street to die? Because they have a personal dislike for them or have a "bad hair" day? And they don't even care?
Shouldn't Government set the example? Instead of justifying
negligence by complaing about paperwork and being back-logged?
And demand more professionalism?"
I'm not trying to kill them like they're killing us. It's the stinking
attitude we have to deal with that needs confrontation. And if they
make a mistake, it needs to be corrected.
Stand up! Get organized. Use confrontation, but be reasonable
and fair.

The problem is that a large percentage of people feel that the homeless are homeless due to their own laziness or poor judgement. You are never going to convince them that they should spend effort or money on people who they will claim refuse to help themselves.

Homelessness is the result of laws releasing a lot of people from mental institutions, I believe it was in the early 1980's, and both parties were involved. The vast majority of homeless people have mental disorders and have no capacity to hold a job or have any form of a normal life. The hard reality is that there is no systematic mechanism to deal with these people.

The more the Government allows people to use "fair" means to become redicullasly rich the more homeless people thier will be.

This Country's morals have declined so bad, that once what was good thing has gone sour.

The conservitive Republicans have allowed people that even have jobs to have to live on the streets.

A Democarcy has to be restored and the Countries values have to be put back in place.

No more of this, people getting rich only by abusing other people leading them to poverty.

This is America? WHat sort of example have we become?

2008 will be the time when we may see the Countries morals being on a path to restoration.

The fault DOES not lay upon the illegal immigrants!!

Because the system is one big scam. So much of the money we pay in taxes is used frivolously. Have you ever seen some of the reports of all the ridiculous studies they spend millions on? Claiming scientific study or some other bullshit? The people that really need help will never get it, because they don't know the right people. Too many crooks have learned how to scam the system out of billions, while the people that honestly need help are left to fend for themselves. It is sickening. Sadly, I don't see it ever changing. It is one big political game.

The realities are that we cater too much to laziness and the waist line of the average American shows it. Get a job and you will only be homeless if you make bad choices and there is nothing any society can do to cure individual stupidity and lack of motivation. The presence of the so called safety net causes more people to fall.

OK, a local City Administrator a few years ago, decided to do something about the homeless in his city. He got them off the streets, got them the medical and emotional help they needed. Got them housing, training, education, jobs, etc.

ALL of them ended up back on the streets within a few years because ALL OF THEM did not want to work, wanted to drink and take drugs. They do not want to be responsible for life.

Help is always available. They just have to ask for it. They don't want help. They want to drink and take drugs. Sad reality.
