will be the top 10 overall player all time if hes not already. i believe he has 460 some homeruns 1300+ runs 1300+ rbis hes the youngest of the four in 40/40 club, he will be in the 300/300 club. He currently has 6 goldgloves and every homerun he hits hes the youngest to get their. Now some say he isnt "clutch" but honestly clutch doesnt to players and experts. Many people say david ortiz is clutch but they only show him in clutch situations in which he has came through. it doesnt show when he strikeout fliesout or groundsout to end the game so will Alex rodriguez be in top 10 alltime. Thank you all replies exceptable

l would have to say that A-Rod is doing a very good job of getting into the top 10. Of course, he'll have to continue the pace that he is going at now to attain that goal. l believe that he will soon be recognized as "great" because he will finally get the championship ring that has so far eluded him over his career. Like you say, he has many records where he is the youngest to do something. I think that he has been very consistent in his career so far and that he'll continue to play at that high level for many years to come. If so, he undoubtably will be in the top 10, if not the top 5!

Some will say that he isn't one of the top ten players of all time, but his numbers can't be argued. If the question were to ask if he was one of the top ten clutch players of all time, or top ten championship team players of all time then no, he might not be on those lists. You would be talking about someone like Kirk Gibson or David Ortiz. What he has done in this game and will continue to do won't be witnessed in this era again. Albert Pujols may hit as many homeruns, but to be the complete player as A-Rod has been for the past so many years, won't be matched any time soon.

A Rod is already a hall of fame player. Career wise he is much greater than David Ortiz sure Ortiz has had better years these days but you know what A ROd has the most homers by a SS. He is going to be the most successful player of all-time.

Until he wins a championship and contributes significantly he will never be a "great" player in the court of public opinion. Not saying this as one of those Yankees haters I am a big fan of them and hate to see how he was treated last season, but he will have to produce in the clutch to be know as a great player in the eyes of many ,no matter how many records he holds.

I'm as big a Yankee fan as they come, and I say that A-Rod needs a ring before he gets in that club. Ruth, Dimaggio, Mays, etc. all had incredible offensive numbers and distances themselves from other strong players. A-Rod needs to do the same. At least once.

Comparing him to Dan Marino is legit -- big time numbers, zero rings. That's why Marino trails Montana, Elway, Favre on many all-time QB rankings. He just couldn't translate his star power into making his team win.

Hes one of the best in the game. He has one bad post season and everyone gets crazy. Even his worst yr is better than the average best yr. He still has a long career ahead of him lets see what else he does. He alrewady accomplished so much. One little setback like this wont do a guy like him in.

I believe he will,he along with Albert Pujols will be the guys to make a run at the all-time HR total of a career.Thats why I'm not in to this Barry Bonds bashing, because whatever number he puts up A-Rod or AP will eventually surpass him.

I agree with you on almost every count.
If he keeps healthy, he'll be one of the most productive players ever, not to mention a 800+ HR hitter without the help of steroids. One thing though, he's only won 2 Gold Gloves. Not six.

If A-Rod retired today, he would be voted into the Hall of Fame. He is probably the best all-around players of all time (when he's fielding at shortstop). There is no doubting that.
