Wrong RAM installed, installed inproperly, or a bad RAM stick.

I got a free computer b/c someone got this error and thought their motherboard was bad.... they had a PC400 chip in a PC that only accepted PC2700 memory... Now I have a nice 2.8ghz P4 PC and all I had to do was install the proper RAM!

Could be RAM or it could also be a video card. Pull out the RAM and reseat it. Sometimes that's all it takes. Since you have the case open, do the same with the video card.
