What are good themes for sweet 16's and what should we do at one?

We were thinking "cocktail" and dress up and go out to dinner but any other ideas and/or themes would be helpful? Always ideas for things to do at the party. We want a reasonable amount of money not outragous.

9 of my friends and I got a limo and went to the nearby city for my sweet 16. We ate dinner out and went to the wax museum, and we had an amazing time.

If that's a little pricey, you could just do dinner or dessert or something as well. We had the most fun in the limo actually, I think. Make a good mix cd with fun dancing music and a video montage (if the limo has a DVD player), and you'll have a blast. Take a ton of pics, and if you want, bring snacks such as Martinelli's sparkling cider (a big hit, and the joke was that it completely looked like we'd been drinking all night in the pictures...) and fruit dips/candy.

Also, my friend recently went to a "masquerade" themed sweet 16. Masks, awesome dresses, the works. I thought that was pretty cool.

well if you are thinking about throwing a party, maybe you should watch mtv's sweet 16, I know that some of those parties are outrageous, but maybe you can some ideas, and budget it in your own price range, you never know.

u can have a dream theme it would be something different a lot of ppl have parties for their 16th bday where everyone dresses up. this theme ppl can wear nice pjs. it would be cool.

Well.... you could go black white, kisses, hearts, cocktail, lual, formal, karioke, just plain, or BIG HUGE BLOWN OUT FACNY FORMAL BLOWOUT PARTY OF THE YEAR!!!!!! hope this gives you some good ideas:)
