I guess what I am trying to say is.... you have 425 and 604 as a ratio. For example: you have 604 repair calls and you only make 425 repairs. How can you simplify that? Or even better make into a percentage?

425 = 5 x 5 x 17
604 = 2 x 2 x 7 x 23
no common factors
therefore, the fraction you are looking for, 425/604, cannot be simplified.
Use a calculator to work out the percentage
425 divided by 604 multiplied by 100 = 70.364%

When you factor out 425 you get 5*5*13
When you factor out 604 you get 4*151

You won't be able to find any common denomintor unless the factor is 1. Hence the answer is 425*604 = 256,700.

first, find the prime factors of each number:

425 = 5^2 * 17
604 = 2^2 * 151

observe that there are no common terms in the factorizations of the two numbers. this means that the least common denominator will be the product of the two numbers:

425 * 604 = 256700

The lcd in this case is 1. (Since 425=425/1 and 604=604/1)

Maybe you mean least common divisor or least common multiple?

It's 'least (or lowest) common denominator' (there's only one of them ☺) and, for 425 and 604 it's 1.

Least common denominators are only for fractions, but the least common multiple would be 256700 and the greatest common factor would be 1.
