My favorite is Dragon Ball Z. I think it's a true classic.
The manga is of much higher quality, of course, but I still like it as much as the anime.
A lot of the new mangas/animes were inspired from DBZ, like Naruto for instance.

i prefer anime if you take out the fillers but the manga is too short for my liking and why would you read something if you could watch it .the best thing about the manga is that it has a lot of blood and violence ,an action, it generally shows more than the anime ,but the anime moves on its own ,it really depends on you and my favourite is NARUTO .
