When they violate my God given rights. The Declaration of Independence said our rights are from God, not governments, and when our government violates our rights then we are justified in replacing that government with a more correct one.

You are old school. Now in the schools I am sure that the young people are being indoctrinated in giving up the rights to have guns.
Many police personally own a large quantity of guns as a hobby and for the commie bastards taking away our rights.
Hitler took all the peoples guns
I believe when the government tries to take that right away. The country will collapse

This is why groups like the NRA fight for our right to bear arms. Someone has to do it. I've been thinking we're getting close for a long time... and personally I think the main sign of it is that the government wants to have guns that they won't let us have... kinda funny, huh?

Slow down tiger if you think its time to do that. Anyway if you read the Constitution and anything by any of the founding fathers you would know how important that right is. I am afraid most Americans would role over and take whatever happened. Fighting the police/army without machine guns of your own would be pretty easy BTW.

what you are speaking of is why we have the rights we have government is evil just read a paper. as for us not having the same guns thats why people have tried to fight against gun laws people can think what they want we have the right to bear arms soley to defend our selves from a tyrinical govenment

Many Americans believe that when it comes to that point, living without freedom is not worth living at all, and they will fight to the death.Why would the government, who supposedly works for the people want to have complete control over the people, other than for tyrannical reasons?

Well, personally, I think any time they take arms up against Bush and Co. would be a-ok with me. "Sole Decision maker" in Iraq, Mr. Bush? Sounds like the 1933 ReichKampaign speeches to me.

This is the one argument in favor of gun-owners' rights with which I disgree.
If the 2nd Amendment means that people have the right to rebel against their own government, then as far as I'm concerned, that was then (215 years ago) and this is now. I don't want any crazy people getting rebellious like the Confederate States and trying to wage war against our government. I do support the idea of a law-abiding individual's right to own a gun, but let's not get crazy about when and why to use them.
I believe (my opinion) that if your state legislature passes a law to ban all guns, if your Governor signs it, if the courts of your state uphold it, then you do not have a "right" to carry a gun. And if police officers come to you to confiscate your gun, and if you shoot them citing the 2nd Amendment and the Declaration of Independance as your "right" to do so, then I suspect that the Government will treat you the same way as Timothy McVeigh, and you should be.

Do me a huge favor. Read the DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE. You will then understand when it is appropriate or necessary to take up arms against the goverment.
