Is it required to rate answers to anyone's questions besides mine?

I'm confused. This is my first day answering, asking, and earning points to questions. I'm sure that I can rate answers to my questions, but do I need to rate other answers to other questions besides mine?

You don't even have to rate on your own questions if you don't want to.
