I comprehend your concern - I HATE needles too, yet a blood try incredibly isn't that extensive of a deal. you will flow to the lab or the dr's workplace and a few very intense high quality nurse will help you by way of it. enable the nurse comprehend which you're frightened and that they are going to be better sympatheitc. right here is what occurs - they tie a small piece of rubber tubing around your bicep and then they take a very tiny needle - no longer lots thicker than some hairs and gently placed it on your arm - you will sense a pinch - yet incredibly no longer the rest. purely take a seat nonetheless and BREATHE!! be satisfied to hold a small 'sturdy success allure' to hold directly to or squeeze for reassurance. there isn't any evaluate cancelling - you needless to say prefer the blood try for some thing and in case you cancel you will purely could get all worked up lower back to do it yet all over lower back. while you're incredibly petrified of the pinch which you will sense - flow on your pharmacist immediately and ask him/her for some Emla cream. that's a numbing cream that hospices use in the past needles and small proceedures. you could rub it on a pair of hours in the past your blood try. you would be great - your greatest impediment is your concern - no longer surely the needle. So breathe deep and purely get it over with.

I remember in the sixth grade i had to get one and I acted a fool. I'm talking crying, screaming, yelling, but really when i had the test done, it wasn't that bad. I felt so dumb. I think looking at it is what scared me the most. I'm in ninth grade now and I still hold onto my mom when I have to get a shot. I'm a girl so you can't say anything. lol. Anyway, just hold onto someone and whatever you do, don't look at the needle. It'll be over soon.

It will hurt, but not nearly as much as you think it will. Freaking yourself will only make you more sensitive to pain.
When I was a kid, I absolutely hated needles. Now I have three tattoos. Go figure.
The nurse is only going to take out a small amount of blood. You aren't in any danger. All I can suggest is that you look away or close your eyes and keep breathing.

Its going to pinch for a second. Remember, relax..if you tense up it hurts more. Wear a long sleeved t-shirt, roll it up enough so that they can put the tourniquet on over your shirt and it wont pinch your skin. Bring a Gameboy, I-pod, whatever puts you in your happy place. Then just listen to your music,(or play your game). Tune the whole thing out! I promise it will be over before you know it. The anticipation is worse than getting it done.
P.S Nobody likes needles!!

I hate needles too....I had to have my blood taken more than once for "Mono".... It hurts when they first poke you with the needle. When they did it to me...They took like five containers you know the little viles and then I felt sick afterwords. I hated it and all the doctors too. I cryed and the doctor said Do you hate me, I am sorry.
