Neither should be performed by a nurse. Typically doctors only do these 2 tests. Discuss your concerns with your doctor.
It is not possible to do a colonoscopy on your own, and unless you are double-jointed (which most people aren't) you cannot do a prostate exam either. Plus you won't know what you are looking for. Doctors are experienced at recognizing abnormalities.

You can perform a digital self exam of your prostate on yourself, but the colonoscopy will be quite difficult without your own scope. Really though a professional can do a much better job of determining any potential abnormallities than you can so just remember that they will remain professional through the procedure.

There is nothing embarrassing or demeaning about seeing a health professional. You have no idea how many rear ends that nurse has seen, and she or he won't remember yours in particular five minutes later.

Prostate, maybe, depends how long your fingers are and if you know what your feeling for. Colonoscopy, what are you kidding?you'd have to be nuts in which case you should go to the mental health boards!

Go to the doctor, are you goofy, embarrassed ?? Be embarrassed and don't go and then die from something that if found early can be fully treated, Go to the doctor get over your embarrassment.
