It could help you by breaking out of the mold of conformist thinking. It will isolate you in some areas, particularly if your thinking is too radical or different. Intelligent may bring you closer to discovering yourself and humanity. Intelligent is a double-edged sword, it will clean your eyes, but may also cause you to be ostracized.

I don't believe that it would actually. Not that I am arrogant by any means but I believe that I have more than sufficient intelligence to function in life. I already think too much. Sometimes knowledge is a burden. To be honest, I think that being less intelligent might help me. Perhaps I could relax a little more. The people that I encounter who don't seem terribly bright are much happier. Many of them are more successful than I am. They are more social & seem to get along better in the world and relate to others far more readily. It's not what you know it's who you know. Sometimes intelligence is a hindrance. I did very well in school & it made me a target (nerd, bookworm, brownnoser etc). I got straight A's, awards & medals and then graduated and had a hard time finding a job. Employers looked at my resume and rather than being impressed seemed to hold it against me "You're overqualified. You won't be challenged here." Being intelligent doesn't make you happy. Ignorance is bliss, remember?

Maybe I would be able to give a good definition of intelligence if I was more intelligent?

Intelligence is only valid if from it we gain "Wisdom"
I have a genius IQ, but lack wisdom in some areas I would like to explore and gain knowledge in.

The only way I can get any more intelligent is when I die and then, and only then, will I be like Gods who know!

amp, I have a real hard time believing what your would-be employers have told you. "You're overqualified"? That's ridiculous, intelligence would be a benefit at work.

I'd be more able to use my brain for more worthwhile endeavors, I'd be better suitable to differentiate from minor issues and important matters. I'd be smarter, smart is good- more smart is intelligenter too.
