Do you have a swing? I heard some colic babies love to rock in the swing. Don't fret if he sleeps in the swing even, just make sure there's nothing around his face to stiffle him. Babies sleep in the womb all crunched up and upside down (for the most part) having him sleep seated up might help him feel more secure.

The thing with colic it's not one symptom or just one thing that triggers it. Now if you have a 10 month old that's crying she could be sick. You gotta watch their behavior. When my daughter cries uncontrollably, 99 percent of the time it was because she was sick, or had an ear infection or something. If consoling them doesn't work, then they're trying to let you know that they need some medical attention and something is wrong. Here's some tips from this book that I have:
Pacifier
lay baby tummy down across your knees and rub the baby's back.
swaddle in a blanket
run the vaccum in the next room. babies like steady rhythmic motions/sounds
if you breastfeed, cut down on caffeine, onions, cabbage, and irritable foods
or if bottle feeding try a formula that's hypoallergenic or is specialized for colicky babies.

First, check out what he is eating. Some babies are allergic or intolorant of milk, so if he is bottle fed you might change his formula to a soy or a lactose free. My son was the same way, and we had to change his formula twice, but once we got one that worked he was much improved! Next, go to a natural food store like Whole Foods, and get some homeopathic Chamomilia. It is totally safe, they even have it packaged for infants for colic, though you can get just the regular stuff, too. My doctor recommended it, and we had a lot of luck with it. It also works for teething, so if you have luck with it, keep it for the next round, too! And remember, there is nothing wrong with putting baby in his crib and relaxing for a bit yourself. You will be a much better mommy if you allow yourself some time without guilt. You have your hands full, and if he is going to cry either way, you might as well get some rest! Good luck, it won't last long, but I know it is hard right now.

I have heard that colic is not actually a sickness, but it does mean your baby is hurting. Maybe he/she has gas or other stomach pain. Try gently bouncing your baby in a rhythmic motion up and down. This may be a temporary fix. Also my son used to calm down if I patted him gently on the lower back and bottom when he had gas pain. You could also ask your doctor about changing his/her formula. Unless you are breast feeding, if you are I would look at what your eating to see if anything could be disagreeing with the baby.

I gave my son a medication called LittleTummys, but I don't remember at what age you can start them on that. Vibration works very well to calm a colicky baby as does swaddling them in a blanket. Wrap them very snuggly like they do in the hospital. Swings are wonderful too. I also used to take him for rides in the car because that was the only thing that put him to sleep when an episode hit him and before the medication would start working.

Two things that work wonders for colic which you can find at the drug store either Gripe Water or Oval they use this one in the hospitals.. What I would try doing is lay him either on your legs or in his bed and do bicycle legs to help work out the gas it helps big time.. also you could try laying back in a chair with him on your chest stomach to stomach changing from lightly pating and rubing his back if he starts fussing you are in a good position to start lightly bouncing or rocking him side to side.. sometimes just laying on his tummy can make such a difference..
I hope that helps

I really feel for you with my experience there's not a whole lot you can do, maybe some of the anti-colic bottles that don't allow bubbles. Don't be afraid at ask for help the best thing you can do for your kids is to take care of yourself.

i know how you feel. my daughter was the same the first two month. try giving him fennel tea. most babies like the taste of it and it helps.
if you had enough of the screaming, out him in his cot and go in another room where you can't hear him for 5-10 minutes. i used to do that, specially after 3 hours non-stop screaming.
you can't give him gripe water till he's 3 month old. he's allowed infacol from birth. my daughter used to cough it back up because she didn't like it. from 1 month you can buy dentinox which you can put in his bottle. helped me a lot.
Hope he'll be well soon.

You can try warm baths to soothe him. Perhaps some Mylicon gas drops if that is the cause of his crankiness. You might want to discuss changing his formula with his doctor.
I have heard that running a vacuum cleaner calms a colicky baby, but I have never tried it.
Good luck :)
