I need to buy a optical drive and theres so many and I can't get a straight answer from any of the ones that have been reviewed. Its going on a nforce based MB with a Athlon 3000 as a processor it has a dewcent graphics cards.

I don't want nothing too expensive but at the same time nothing too slow with faults/issues/incapabilities left right and centre.

Suppose I'm looking to spend upto £30, whats a good make and model suggestions would be good.

Thanx.

I'd recommend LG. I've had my LG dvd rom in two computers and it is still going strong. We are talking over five years use. I also have an LG lightscribe dvd-rw and it is excellent. I had a liteon before that. It lasted 6 months. i replaced it with the LG 1.5 years ago and it does a great job. nice and fast and reads almost anything.
they cost from about 20 quid up.

From your £30 I assume you not in America, not sure you see this link, but you can try. This about $40 USD for us with shipping.

I have had great success with Liteon products. They are usually cheaper but work great!
